Girls Athletic Association The Girls Athletic Association started the year by preparing a float for Swarm Day. For their Christ- mas project this year they presented a basket of food to a needy family. They held their annual slumber party with the FHA in the gym. A number of girls participated in the Play Day exercises given by the Women ' s Athletic Association at Black Hills Teachers College. The annual picnic was held in the park at the close of the year. Future Homemakers of America The 44 members of the Future Homemakers of America began their busy year by winning second prize in a float in the beauty division of the Swarm Day parade. Special projects were a baked food sale, mak- ing Christmas toys for the Crippled Children ' s Hospital in Hot Springs and collecting clothes for needy families. Guest speakers spoke at FHA meetings on proper dress for girls and the Miss America contest. Just for fun, FHA members went Christmas caroling with the choir, gave a skit at a pep meeting and had a slumber party with the GAA. The year was concluded with the preparing and serving of the Senior Tea. Future Teachers of America Three seniors, four juniors, and five sophomores composed the Future Teachers of America for the past year. Working for grade school teachers, typing tests, and recording the circulaUon of books were the most important activities of the members. A formal initiation and noon luncheon meetings were held. The Story of Bill Tell , a skit produced by the group, was given for the January 17 pep meeting. Frances Repass is adviser for the group. —19—
