Mikkelsen, Adviser Noel Wallace, Mike Butterfield, Wayne Jeffery, Mary Kay Hanson, Lynn McCain, Steve PoUey. SEATED: Ruth Twombley, Bill Anthony, Joy Christensen, David Jerde, Peggy Riggs. ' From the time the first poster of the campaign was hung in the halls until graduation, the Student Council was busy promoting a better school. David Jerde was elected president, and Bill Anthony, vice-president of the student body after a vigorous, all school campaign which included a parade of decorated cars and the dropping of pamphlets from an airplane. James Johnson was elected president, and Joy Christensen, secretary, of the South Dakota Association of High School Student Councils at the state convention in Pierre. SHS was represented at this convention by the junior and senior council members and by Noel Wallace, adviser. Projects of the Council this year included the sponsoring of SHS Day festivities, the all-school Christmas party and the Honor Banquet. —6—
