SPEARFISH JUNIOR-SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL omwon To keep among your collection of mem- ories, the Spartan Staff offers this record album of fun, friends, and feats accomplished during the school year 1954-55. We know you will never forget the fun at picnics, slumber parties, the deafening cheering at games, and those hilarious times at play practice. As you thumb through the album, we hope that a glance at each record will renew for you the happy strains of high school memories. —2- D E D I C A T I O N Shirley and Glenn Beier, wilh daughters, Lynelle and Barbara Dear Mr. Beier, If we were to listen to a recording of our lives, it is a certainty that your guidance would hove in- fluenced many a deep groove cut in the once blank surfaces of our personality and career development. The kind, patient instruction we received in your classes, spiced with that quiet humor and friendly atmosphere, made typing and shorthand, as well as bookkeeping, seem so interesting and easy we just couldn ' t help but learn. And the little things— the gay bulletin board, the fun you poked at our careless mistakes, and the many hours you so unselfishly gave to help with our declam selections, will long remain a happy medley in our life ' s record. To you, Glenn Beier, in remembrance of your guidance and friendship, we dedicate this, the 1955 SPARTAN. The Spartan Staff —3— . BEN B. BURRIS— A. B. James Johnson was elected president, and Joy Christensen, secretary, of the South Dakota Association of High School Student Councils at the state convention in Pierre. SHS was represented at this convention by the junior and senior council members and by Noel Wallace, adviser.
