Sighting in on the newest club at Spaulding, the Rifle Club, we find that the advisor, Mr. Norris, ably instructs boys and girls in rifle training. Officers: President, Douglas Wright; Vice- President, Karl Lamson; Secretary, Gloria Kezer; Treasurer, Peter Hommel. All boys and girls enrolled in the Vocational School compose the Tech Club. These mem- bers sponsor a record hop during the year to finance their banquet. Any surplus funds are allocated for the good of the Vocational School. Officers: President, Donald MacKenzie; Vice-President, Kermit Thompson; Secretary, Elaine Holt; Treasurer, Thomas Gorton. The purpose of the Girls’ Athletic Associa- tion is to help each girl become more physically fit so that life can be enjoyed to the fullest extent. Miss Gottshall, the advisor, supervises the activities, such as basketball and volleyball. 27

 C’est la vie!” This is the life for French Club members. This club offers a fifty dollar scholarship to a deserving student. The French Club banquet is one of the high- lights of their activities. Officers and senior members: Back Row: Elaine Merryfield, Bill Roy, Advisor, Mrs. Sas- sone; John Nicholls, Marie O’Meara. Front Ron: Marlene Bizzozero, Secretary; Judith Ripley, Vice-President; Sheila Buttura, Presi- dent. Lingua Latina non perit, sed etiam vivit.” The Latin language still lives and this can be proved the first Friday of every month when the fifty members of the Junior Classical League hold their meeting. The Latin banquet is the special event of the year’s program. For the enjoyment of the students and teachers, J.C.L. members also make a Christmas spray for each classroom door and sing Christmas carols. Officers: Consul, Mary Brady; Scriba, Elaine Merryfield. El Camino Real” is the royal road that we follow through our years in Spanish. The pur- pose of the Spanish Club is to present a fifty dollar scholarship to any student who plans to study Spanish in a four-year college. The Spaulding Math Club, L4, meets bi- monthly under the supervision of Miss White to present interesting programs concerning mathematics. Math Club members also prepare and exhibit projects for the Science Fair. Back Ron : David Cary, Secretary-Treasur- er; Douglas Joyce, President; Michael Seely, Frank Linton, Program. Front Row: Linda White; Miss White, Advisor; Grace Canning, Vice-President. Our valuable Library Aides become familiar with the ways and means of running a library elficiently under the direction of Mrs. Hart- well, our librarian. Senior Library Aides: Richard Pletzer, Paul Stefanazzi, Marie Fournier, Carol Bresett, Mar- tha Imperiale, Terry Demas. The primary objectives of the Weight-lifting Club are the development and the preservation of physical fitness. Under the supervision of Mr. Maiola, many boys are hard at work try- ing to reach these goals. The officers are: left to right: Yvon Coupal, President; Stephen Wall, Secretary-Treasurer; Mr. Maiola; Fred Savoia, Vice-President.
