We have worked extremely hard this year with one goal in mind, To make the biggest and best annual SHS has ever seen. As the year draws to a close, we look back upon some of the pleasant events that have taken place during the past year and have tried to capture the most outstanding accomplishments, expectations, and triumphs between the covers of the Bulldog. We consider ourselves very lucky to have had two wonderful ad- visors, Miss Gray and Mr. Mitze and our friend, Mr. Smothers, who have worked long and hard to help us over the rough spots. Only through their patience and cooperation with the annual staff, could this book have been possible. We would also like to express our thanks to our photographer, Mr. Carl Richell, who worked side by side with us in producing the '65 Bulldog. We truly hone that we have succeeded in our endeavor to present a good annual to you, the students of Sparta High. With the sincere wish that each of you will find among these pages something special-- something that you will remember forever--we give you the 1965 Bulldog. TRAINER, Superintendent GRADUATES OF 1965: Once again Sparta High School, as well as schools all over the nation, is sending forth its graduates to compete in the world of adults. Suddenly you are no longer children. Suddenly, because of one day in your life—graduation day— you must meet the world on its own terms. Either you will leave home to compete in the world of the colleges and universities or you must compete in the everyday world around you. The purpose of this competition is to make some contribution— large or small—which will improve the world, in other words, the society in which you live. You will need help along the way. Be sure to turn to true friends: a true sense of values, a sense of responsibility, a dedication to purpose and duty, self-confidence in your own wisdom and skill, and reliance in a religious belief. Trust these friends; they will stand by you always. Most sincere best wishes, Harold W. Huch HWH:mjh Guidance Assistance is needed by all students at S.H.S. Our counselors have given assistance to many undecided students. to Success It is the Guidance Department of Sparta High that leads the students through a profitable school year. Ahead lies graduation, proms, summer vacation, summer jobs, and for many the plans and preparation for higher learning and a col- lege education. The ’65 BULLDOG Staff has sought to build a book which would in a special way reflect Sparta High School 1965. As the halls grow dim and the classrooms quiet, we hope this book will bring back the memories of this year and hold this living school forever in your memory.
