CLASS HISTORY We began our Freshman year with anticipation of our first fair projects, Carol Blakeslee was selected as fair queen candidate. We thought our float, Give Sparta A Shot In The Arm, was quite good, but apparently the judges, who awarded us only third prize, thought otherwise. Our freshman trip to Pittsburgh proved almost fatal to the future Freshmen, who were waiting eagerly for their chance to go, Our Sophomore year brought many rules and regulations which we thought were unfair, but nevertheless we were forced to follow them. We chose, as our fair queen candidate, Jean Tor- rey. Our float, The Caveman Era, received second prize. Our first fair stand in which we sold pie and cake, was a huge success, All during the summer vacation we eagerly awaited our junior year activities, Our Junior year brought much fun and many days of hard work, We were very busy during the fair days with the queen's float and our stands, We had a Ring Toss A GoGo and a Pronto Pup Stand, Our queen candidate was Pat Rote. Finally on November 19 came the arrival of our coveted class rings. In March we began practicing for our Junior play, The Night Is My Enemy, with Mr, Peter Allegretto and David Straite as our directors, On April 7 we presented our play. During our entire junior year we planned and produced the '66 Spartan, of which we are 'very proud. The coming of May brought the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. After a week of planning the gym looked lovely, decorated in the theme, Stairway To The Stars, At last came our final year, This year had been busier than we had ever imagined it could be, We worked very hard on our Senior Stand at the fair, Our fair queen candidate, Barb Bre- gitizer, was elected Queen, In October we began selling Christmas cards to make money for our trip to Washington. Spring will bring our magazine sales, the trip to Washington, and the Banquet and Prom. Finally on May 23 comes graduation. We leave Sparta High with both fond and sad memories. We wish much luck and happiness to the following classes of Good Ole Sparta. Carol and Jean
