Class of 'Sl by Katherine McCoy We trudged into the familiar portals of Study Hall 12 last September, eagerly awaiting what the year had to offer. The eighth ,grade advisors, Miss Lee and Mrs. Abrahamson, directed us through election of 'class officers with the following results: A A Q' John Chapin President ......................... .Vice President --- ..... The week before Christmas vacation, the junior high held a dance in the gym- nasium. Cake, coca-cola, and ice cream were served. Everyone enjoyed the event. The eighth grade had a party in the lunchroom in April, In December the American Legion Auxiliary announced an Americanism Essay Contest. Meredith Wilde and Toby Apple submitted their essays both winning a prize, Meredith first prize which was S5 and Toby second 33. The essay topic was America's Contribution to World Peace . We wish to express our sincere appreciation for the help and guidance our teach- ers have given us throughout this year.
