UD I2lll1IEll0Ell1I'S SSAGE 'Qu-an TO THE CLASS OF 1957 In a short time you will begin new activity. All growth depends on activity. There is little or no development, physically or intellectually, without effort -- and effort means work. To many people work is a curse, that is not true, rather it is a prerogative of intelligence. It is the measure of your growth as an individual, as a village, a nation -- In fact civilization itself. To the class of 1957 I would ask you to keep in mind that things endure in human affairs when they are not made of pride and power, but of humility and when you have a sweet sense of accomplishment and recognize the value of every minute. It is our hope that during your short stay at Sparta schools you have gathered knowledge to the extent that you will agree with John Ruskin, who wrote The only difference between education and non-education is accuracy, Sincerely yours, Z ij Q W. H. DeHart
