FACULTY Mr. Arthur Blocher has been band instructor at S. H. S. for his thirteenth term.Our students are proud of the many honors won by the band un- der his capable guidance. Mr. Blocher attended the Virtuoso School of Music and Vandercook School of Music. His favorite hobbies are photography and the collection of cacti. Miss Frances Hadley was the commercial teach- er for her third term this year. She received her B. A. Degree from Parson College, Fairfield, Iowa. She also attended the Iowa State University and Gregg College, and western Illinois State Teach- ers College at Macomb, Illinois. Miss Hadley previously taught in Fairfield High School. Her favorite pastime interests are traveling and music. Miss Alice Prentiss was the Home Economics teacher for her first year at Sparland. She re- ceived her B. S. Degree from the University of Illinois. Her major in college was Home Economics, her minors, English and Chemistry. Her hobby is collecting antiques. Mr. Robert Lenz is our new agriculture teacher this year, having taken the place of Paul Nicely.Mr. Lenz is from Varna, and having received his B. A. degree from the University of Illinois with the class of 1950. His favorite pastime is photography. Mrs. Robert Scoon is the new secretary of Unit District No. 3. She graduated from Sparland High School with the class of '49. Her hobbies are sew- ing and square dancing.
