' 'Hello Zfhcrrz lfauug Man ' ' Hello there, young man, is the greeting I hear Each day as I enter the hall, And with a nod of my head and a smile on my lips I cheerfully answer the call. Then Pete turns to his tools and continues his work As I, too, go on my way, And perhaps it will be, l'll not see him again Throughout the ensuing day. But the fact that he took some of his time To send that hello to me, Leaves such a feeling of joy and good will That it makes me glad just to be In a school where students a lot like myself Can enjoy, and are allowed to share The feeling of friendship, and peace and ease, That is so constantly there. And when, for a short time, that feeling did go, And I failed to hear that call, The sky became cloudy and the sun did dim, And I, and we all, sensed the loss of that feeling That somehow only Pete can, and does Create with his simple yet wonderfully fine Salute, Hello there, young man.
