Cwelve years Zfagethcr On September G, 1955, 16 slightly green, but confident Fresh entered the halls of our illustrious school. The wheels of progress were immediately set into motion by the election of Tom Ray, Bert Smith, and Lana Tuttle as President, Vice President and Secretary -Treasurer of our class. Mr. Drummond was our Freshman class advisor. We chose as our class motto, The greater the difficulty, the greater the glory , class flower, white carnationg and class colors, pink and green. Initiation was held on September 30 making us full fledged members of S, H. S. Our Sophomore year saw us with a loss and a gain of 3 classmates. Our class Carnival King and Queen candidates, Monty Zehm and Rosemarie Hart were crowned as King and Queen of the annual S, H, Carnival on October 13, 1956. A loss of 2 members brought our membership down to 14 at the beginning of our Jtuiior year. On April 18, the Junior and Senior classes staged a play, Onions in the Stew . Our Junior Prom held on May 16, was a huge success.. The gym was decorated to the theme of My Blue Heaven. The Dutch Groshoif Orchestra furnished the music. As mighty Seniors, we began the 1958-1959 school term with 13 seniors, and Mr. Lindgren as our advisor. The production of the annual Huskie was our major project. The Senior Ball, Junior and Senior Play, Sneak, Baccalaureate, Commencement and numerous other activities, as well as our studies, all served tu make this year a very busy, but exciting period in our lives. THE Elf?!SFfT we i' YES' ml Graduation Graduation exercise was held on May 27th at 8 p. m. in the Spangle Gym. The guest speaker was Dr. Frank Warren of Whitworth College, who gave the Commencement Address. Lana Tuttle and Ursula Vogt, Co-Valedictorians, gave speeches on Our Past and Our Future . H. E, Limbert presented special awards to Lana Tuttle, Ursula Vogt, Dorothy De Gon, Claudia Grunewald, Nancy Schieche, Diane Deeds, Eileen Scott, Joanne Green, Monty Zehm, Bert Smith, and Gary Carter. H, S. and being the most talented, most liked, most co-operative, most intelligent, does hereby publish its last will and testament, which should be treated with utmost respect and carried out to the small est detail. I, Ursula Vogt, will my thick German knees to Diane H. , my numerous dented fenders to Steve D. , and my 200 lost pens to anyone smart enough to find them. I, Monty Zehm, will all my books to Chuck L. , my ability to take out girls to Bud G. , my troubles to Cathy, and my Saturday night ability to the boys of 60 . I, Nancy Schieche, will my long finger-nails to Beverly R. , my ability to dance to all the S, H, S, boys, and ability to go with the O, H, S, boys to Carol H, I, Diane Deeds, will my mud-covered English books to Carol M. , my straight hair to Diane H. , and my yell leading suit to Diana S. I, Dorothy DeGon, will my sense of humor to Mrs. Walsh, my ability to sneeze in class to Diane H. , and my mischief maken times to Karen H. and Priscilla B. I, Eileen Scott, will my job of running score clock to anyone that will not become con- fused, and my office as Girls Club President to a lucky Junior or Senior. I, Joanne Green, will my basketball suit to Joanne H. , a happy married life just like mine to Karen H. and Priscilla B. , and my hang-out to anyone interested. I, Bert Smith, will my Saturday nights to Bobby H. , my ability to hunt and fish to the Junior girls, my grades to Vicki M. , and all the fun I had in High School to the Spangle boys and my brother Doug. I, David Metzger, will my way with the cooks to Walt L. , my dirty dishes to Grace T. , my study hall habits to Diane H. , and my good grades to Larry DeGon. I, Lana Tuttle, will my height to Jerry Kay S. , my old green Studebaker to anyone tall enough to see over the steering wheel, my short hair to Diane T. , and my ability to get stuck with a lot of extra work to Jerry R. 1, Gary Carter, will my bashfulness to Larry D. , my staying at home to the Junior boys, and my way with the teachers to the Freshman class. I, Rosemarie Hart, will my Eagle Eyes to Linda M. in typing class Qwatch that Diane T. and Vicki M. they always leave typing class with more paper than when they come iny, and my place in band, chorus, and P. E. to Beverly R. I, Claudia Grunewald, will my ability to get into trouble to Cathy R. , my sense of humor to Marguerite D. , and my absent from school excuse book to Diane. We the graduating class of 59 will our many happy moments in high school to the class of 63 in hopes that they enjoy them as much as we did. 15
