I I I W T in ll llf ll ll ll! if 3 ll!- .fu- ADMINISTRATIDN 0000000000 90000000000 0000000000' Mr Drummond Mrs Lelstner Supenntendent Englxsh and commerc1al Mortlz Mr Llmbert Home Ec and Wash Hlst Math shop and ag 3 gccdldin wlcwq Spangle s schoolbuuldung deducated on October 12 1892 burned un the autumn of 1935 Most of the puctures of graduatung classes of prevuous years and the athletuc trophues of past seasons were saved Luttle else was saved and the buuldung was un ruuns Durung the remaunder of that school term school classes were held un the IOOF hall, the hugh school gym and the communuty church Plans were ummedu ately made For a new buuldung whuch was constructed durung the sprung and sum mer of 1936 The new buuldung was offucually deducated on October 12 1936 exactly 4-4 years after the deducatuon of the old buuldung A program of musuc by the hugh school orchestra and a revuew of unterestung facts concernung both the old and the Showalter of the county school offuce were guven Edmund H Sweet superuntendent at the tume the old buuldung burned dued a few weeks later He was succeeded by J H Hulvey now superuntendent of schools at Davenport Wash u ng ton who remauned untul the sprung of 1944 Hubert Muse now head of the Valleyford Washungton schools was un charge from 1947 to 1953 The present superuntendent Robert Drummond came un the fall of 1953 The 1955 graduatung class us the 19th to complete theur hugh school work un the present buuldung Thus class guves apprecuatuve thanks to all those who made possuble educatuon un thus attractuve buuldung and washes good luck to students en uoyung uts advantages un future years I l D I g I I I . . A A 0 Z cv fifwtafzq Sux gurls and two boys entered the doors of Spangle Hu as scared luttle freshmen We found a locker and stole admurung glances at the upper classmen We managed to get to all our classes on tame and certaunly enloyed our study halls lt seemed as uf we were doung o k untul one nughteach of us was guven a slup of paper announcing what we would be seen wearung the next day After a few hopeless threats we all managed to get to school that day dressed as advertlsements Fveryone got a laugh lust watching us struggle through classes That nught the lunuors furnushed the entertainment we being the entertaunment We gave a freshman return party The rest of the year slud by quute rapudly We concluded our furst year wuth a pucnuc at Newman Lake M Lumbert guuded us through our furst year successfully Durung our sophomore year we were glad to feel at ease when we walked down the hall We were glad to have .lack Ray enter our luttle class guvung us a total of three boys Everyone was oJr fruend that year Wc gave a very successful Sophomore Hop wuth Shune on Harvest Moon asour theme We decorated wuth corn stalks pumpkins and a cute luttle dummy The Fruendly Cuty Four furnushed our music We had a party that all of uswull long remember at the Bowl and Putcher and lateu a tour of Nat Park Poor Mr Muse gave up and rested un the school bus Thu. last day we spent at Luberty Lake followed by a movue Mr Muse was our advusor that year and helped us We all took part unthe lunuor senuor class play Rest Assured We enuoyed unutuatung the freshmen but all agreed ut was more fun beung unutuated Yvonne DeGon left us the furst of Aprul to become Mrs Judge Rose We gave our Junuor Prom on May 22 We decorated wuth red and whute hearts as our theme was Heart of My Heart The musuc was furnushed by Samue Mossuto We were happy to wun the carnuval contest havung a kung and queen for the furst tume We ended thus year wuth a uoyous day at Coeur d Alene The water was freezung cold but we had a wonderful pucnuc ball game and sught tour When we entered the doors of Spangle Hu to complete our last year we feltas uf we were truly grown up We lost Sylvua Stentz who left us to become Mrs Alvun Frucke Agaun we won the carnuval kung and queen contest Our class was happy to welcome Patsy Brash from Cheney We had all known her prevuously and she fut un perfectly Thus gave us atotal of fuve gurls and two boys We took part un the lunuor senuor play Quuz Me Agaun We all took part un worucung hard to complete thus an nual The Senuor Ball and Sneak were both a success IO - 9 , .
