Southwood's 1972 Majorette was Jayne Brymner. She worked very hard to help the Cheerleaders and Pom Pon Girls promote school spirit. She per- formed at all the school rallies and games. l l POM POM GIRLS The varsity Pom Pom Girls, with Captain Jenny San- tos and Co-captain Janice Griffin, did a fine job pro- moting school spirit at our games and rallies. They assisted the Cheerleaders in decorating the school with posters and crepe paper. We are grateful to them and their advisor, Miss Marie Advisor: MiSS Strand Strand, for they did a fine job. Our 1972 Mascots were Patty Scherf and- Denise Yelley. This is the first year Southwood has had eighth grade mascots. They were very successful in their efforts to promote school spirit at all the eighth grade games, rallies, and spirit assemblies. The Eighth Grade Mascots assisted the Eighth Grade Cheerleaders in reaching this goal. MASCOTS Kneeling: P. Scherf Standing: D. Yelley Advisor: Miss Bocci CHEERLEADERS This year's 8th grade Cheerleaders, with the help of their advisor Miss Debbie Bocci, performed at the rallies and did a fine job in supporting the Sth grade teams.
