Senior Robert Elliott merits the United States Congressional Youth Council Award. Students learn about other cultures from exchange students Danny Skov from Denmark and Kyoko Yamado from Japan. Character traits of Chris Snead, Cheryl Johnson, and Kelli Neal lead to Leadership serves as a basis for Craig Ross to receive their selection as finalists for the Hugh O’Bryan Award. Cheryl the DAR Award. Johnson gets the final nod as the recipient.

Talent and Moral Character mm braird]® fKl@©®f gtioQo® ACADEMIC ALL-STATE FOOTBALL TEAM: Shane Thomas, Dayton Nooner, Charlie Bolton, Rob Floyd, Anthony Maranto Students earned praise from the school community and the outside area as well. Talent and skill played a key role in some recognition as students trekked to Hawaii. Other students merited recogni¬ tion for their service to the school. “Craig Ross’s dynamic personality, dependability, and leadership made him the obvious choice for the DAR Award,“ said Mr. Tommy Larance. Academics and moral fortitude targeted other students for recog¬ nition, naming them to honors within the school and within the state. Participation in the Hula Bowl comes to Jennifer Friday as a member of the All- Star Cheerleading Squad. Expertise in dancing earns Debbie Green and Shannon DeHondt an in¬ vitation to the Hula Bowl.

Those attributes alone did not tell the entire story. Countless hours of prac¬ tice perfected and toned the God- given talents of both athletes and mu¬ sicians as coaches and directors hand¬ ed out rigorous drill. ‘The sacrifices and efforts put forth to attain athletic awards are more enormous than anyone knows, except the athlete himself,’ ' said Coach Piazza. Others acknowledged their talent and skill.
