woo J’s “S uper 1 The Southwood “Super Six” cheerleaders, under the spon¬ sorship of Carol Shaffer, led SHS through another spirit- packed year. Headed by Sherry Adams, the group was most known for their funfilled pep rallies and exciting cheers. The Super Six participated in several competitions, one of which was in Magnolia, Arkansas. There they won 9 superior ratings in addition to winning the coveted spirit stick twice and being voted the “Most Spirited Squad.” The group held many fund¬ raising projects throughout the year, including a memoboard sale and a car wash. The Southwood Chappar- relles, under the leadership of Mrs. Betty Jordan, adorned the field this year once again in their traditional western uni¬ forms. Composed of 127 girls, the marchers provided enter¬ tainment at games by forming a gun, horseshoe, and several other formations always con¬ cluding with the traditional cowboy boot. With the guid¬ ance of Marshal Cindy Stock- man and Deputy Marshal Deb¬ bie Morgan, the chapparrelles worked hard to promote spirit throughout all areas of Cowboy life.
