The Old Fashioned Girl Was Crowned The third annual Southwood Beauty Pageant, spon- sored by the Student Council, was The Sweet Old Fashioned Cirlfl Sixty girls took part in the pageant, which was held February 2-3. By the end of the first night, that number had been narrowed to twenty. Those twenty attended a luncheon the following morn- ing and then returned home to prepare for the final night of competition. There was excitement in the air because from those twenty, the ten semi-finalists were chosen. From the top ten, the five finalists were selected. At the close of the competition, Senior Debo- rah Rodgers was crowned The Sweet Old Fashioned Girlw by last year's All American Girlfl Mary Mar- kaverich. Bonita Behan and Kelly Hoffee shared the honor of Miss Congenialityf' LEFT: Mary Markaverich, the All American Girl, displayed the train that was made by her mother for the school.
