Dedication 4! DR. SHERMAN G. WAGGONER To you, Dr. Sherman G. Waggoner, former principal of Southwood High School, we proudly and respectfully dedicate the i965 edition of the Lance. Your guidance during Southwood's first two years will never be forgotten by faculty or students. You have held the love and respect of students while guiding them. Dr. Waggoner received his A.B. at Ball State Teachers College, and his Nl.A. and Ph.D. at Iowa State University. He served as teacher, principal, and superintendent at several different high schools and colleges. Like all well-rounded individuals Dr. Waggoner has developed interests in many fields. Some of these include watching baseball and basketball games, gardening, and barbecuing his favorite dish. In this your year of retirement from service in public education vve, representing all classes and graduates, take this oppontunity to show our appreciation. Your guidance and understanding have earned for you a place of highest esteem in all our hearts.
