PRINCIPAL Southwood High School is now in its third year. The effectiveness of any school is determined by the bond of understanding between students, teachers, and the community. No system of schooling or of rearing children at home can be con- sidered any longer as a little local game. The world is its criterion. The next generation will be its iustification. We strive to make Southvvood High School a place, where students may determine their interest fields and then develop these areas to the fullest. Our aim and goal is to develop a more varied curriculum-one that will serve more students to a better degree. The obiective of education today may be stated as the Seven R's, Reading, 'Riting, 'Rithmetic, Reasoning, Responsibility, Resourcefulness, and Realization of the importance of achieving worthy goals and purposes. lt is my earnest hope, that the students, faculty, and community work toward a common end to achieve the above stated policy.
