Professional artists who play the College circuit and deliver their talent across the nation, do more than just teach the students in the fine arts. They open doors for the students and spread their ideas to them. Students are also able to broaden their horizons and open their minds to events that are culturally stimulating. 1) Organist Norman Dello Joio and Dr. Ellsworth Peter- son. The Chorale sang one of his works: Hymn Without Words. 2) Ed Fitzpatrick and David Hill enjoyed learning and playing in the opera The Barber of Seville directed by Dr. Gary Warmink. 3) The new mural on the First National Bank of Taylor, Texas featur es artwork by students of Southwestern. 4) Stephen Temple, Mary Visser, Guss Farmer, and Ismael Soto (Potter) gave art students an interesting treat by ex- hibiting their works. Holidays on Campus S-U ' s Got a Lot of ' Em Beat Southwestern celebrates holidays in its own distinctive way. Some solemn celebrations lace the seasons, and some bring the comic out of people. Everything from Halloween parties to Easter Sunday give students a break from everyday happenings. David Hill won first place in the Commons ' Halloween costume contest. The rest of the body is hanging in Mood 24
