Presenting 19 5 5 f SOU ' WESTER Brain Factory SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY GEORGETOWN, TEXAS DEDICATION An integral part of Southwestern University is its tradition for shaping the paragons of Christian womanhood; embodying char- acter, scholarship, charms, and leadership. These qualities have been set before us in an omnipresent, living example. In her we see every evidence of womanhood. But deeper than, and above the superficial charm we find a tire- less example, teacher, and friend. To you, our paragon of womanhood, Dean Ruth Morgan Fergu- son, we dedicate the 1955 Sou ' Wester. 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 „; , . . - SS88 s S8 1 i« - : ; - i-S} -Ms liii s ii iiii • •• ii : 7 V is L ' M This is the place known as the Brain Factory. Here the serious business of preparing immature minds to face the world is undertaken in a business like manner. But the whole business is made a little less horrible by greasing the wheels with laughter, and covering up the sharp edges with life-long friendships. THE THER1 Here is the pulse beat of the brain factory, where students find relaxation under the care of Evelyn and Miz Gus, and forget their load of study while enjoying Skinny ' s corny jokes. 111111111111113 ' tar; 1 9w Foundren Science Hall ...■-■:■■SOUTHWESTERN 1840 UNIVERSITY .-; . Elected by the entire student body, they are outstand- ing in leadership and school spirit. 41 STUDENT HIATE The smiles of the student senators, elected from their classes, are probably from one of Hany Davis ' priceless puns, but they could be because of a rare unanimous decision. The fiery senatorial debates of the school legislative body usually end, however, in successful all school activities. Chairman: Bobby Lundgren. Secretary: Nancy Hamilton.
