DORA ANN STEWART faeMcittiDn We, the staff of the 1947 Bulldog, hereby dedicate this edition to Doctor Dora Ann Stewart, who has been a loyal and exemplary member of the South- western Tech faculty since 1909. No other instructor in the history of Southwestern has spent so many years of continual unselfish service to this Western Oklahoma college. During Dr. Stewart ' s 40 years of service to our school she has not only interpreted history par excellence, but she has been an inspiration to thousands of young men and women by virtue of her Christian living, her ideals of goo _ citizenship, and the American way of life. Today, Dr. Stewart, on the eve of her retirement, is a woman of utmost integrity, an open-minded woman, one individual who can claim the honor of being able to accept new ideas, the true test of eternal youthfulness. MESSAGE FKOM THE PRESIDENT President ' s Message: Service to institutions and individuals make one great. This Annual has been dedicated by the Editorial Staff to one who has rendered much service to this institution, its personnel and its student body. Dr. Dora Ann Stewart ' s life, as exemplified by her deeds, should ever be an inspiration to all of us. She has done much to promote the study of international problems and understanding by the students of this campus. I can think of no greater service than this. The existence of our present civilization depends upon the solving of our international problems. This must be accomplished through educa- tion. Let us re-dedicate our efforts in making Southwestern a greater in- stitution of service and learning. R. H.
