In a student contest the name Caduceus was submitted many times. Bill Robinson was, however, first to make the sugges- tion, and to him goes the honor of naming the annual of the Southwestern Medical College. The entire faculty have cooperated in purchasing copies of the book and placing their names in the professional directory. Without their support the annual would not have been possible. We are especially indebted to Iohn B. Williams for the cartoons. Even though ill- ness forced him to leave school, he still found time to do the drawings. Mr. A. B. Eisenlohr of The Dorsey Company and Mr. Harry Crenshaw of Southwestern Engraving Company have given much time and interest in planning the printing and engraving. Dr. H. M. Win- ans is to be thanked for the article concerning the Fifty-sixth Evacuation Hospital. We are also indebted to Mr. Mac Cahal for the dedi.cation. Dean Slaughter and his secretary, Miss Lavonia Rhorie, have helped in numerous ways. In general, the local firms solicited for ads were very cooperative and displayed a sur- prising interest in Dallas New Med School. However, a majority of the national drug firms fthe ones with detail ment remain refractile, since such advertising is Not our policy. We hope that the firms with ads in the book receive consideration as they helped to make the annual financially possible. Although it has been difficult to initiate a new yearbook and our time has been limited, do you think we would for one moment refuse if again offered the job?'
