ti MISS Yeti Mr Walter K1zel Class Advnsors We, the graduatmg class of January, 1958, wlsh to express our deepest and slncere appreclatlon to Mxss Yetta Bodzxn and Mr Walter Klzel Wlthout the1r asslstance we could not have accompl1shed what we strlved to attaln M1ss Bodzm has been at Southwestern s1nce Sep tember, 1956 She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees at Wayne Un1vers1ty Her versa t1l1ty has been a valuable asset to our class She has been sponsor of the Span1sh Club, and sold t1ck ets to the Sen1or Play She w1ll be remembered by us as one who worked very dxhgently so that our class was able to succeed ln xts endeavors Mr Kxzel began teachmg a Southwestern nn 1952 He was graduated from Wayne Un1vers1ty He re cexved both the Bachelor of Arts and Masters De gree and IS presently work1ng toward hrs Doctorate there H1s enthuslasm and patlence were great fac tors 1n the success of our class at Southwestern A a frxend and as a fme teacher he w1ll always be remembered by our class We were mdeed fortunate to have two such won derful sponsors We deeply appreclate the responsl b1l1ty wh1ch was the1rs, and the frlendly manners ln whlch they worked w1th us Our future l1ves w1ll surely have been bettered by thexr understand1ng advxce and help whxch enabled us to fully enJoy our last days at Southwestern We the graduatmg class, w1ll always remember the klndness and cheerfulness whxch they so freely bestowed upon us Deducahon We the graduatlng class of January 1958 our hearts fllled w1th gratltude fondly dedxcate our Plc tor1al to Mnss Joanna Savage and Mr W1llard Wxxson We w1ll always remember them not only as teach ers but as frxends wlthout whose guxdance we could not have attamed our goals here at Southwestern Born tn Bellevllle, M1ch1gan M1ss Savage went to Western H1gh School She was then graduated from the Un1vers1ty of Mxchmgan, where she rece1ved both her Bachelor and Masters Degrees Besldes her love for travel Mxss Savage gardens and works m ceramxcs She w1ll always be remembered by the gxrls who have had the pleasure of knowmg her We may be thankful to Mr Wlxson for many of the fxne trad1t1ons here at Southwestern He IS sponslble for the begtnmng of our school paper an year book He also named us the Prospectors H attended the Un1vers1ty of M1Ch1gaH, recelvmg hlS Bachelor of Arts Degree 1n 1915 and h1s Masters Degree 1n 1945 Although Mr Wlxson has ret1red from teachlng he w1ll remam w1th us ln thought as a teacher always wlllmg to g1ve a helpmg hand to the students Once agaxn we would l1ke to extend to these wo teachers our heartfelt thanks for the1r unceasmg help and thelr WISE counsel hr' Miss Joanna Savage Wlllard WIXSOD , , , y D . . j 3 , ' , A ' g, 1 ,V . Class Officers of January, 1958 if' Mary Ann Peets, Treasurer Jerry Martln, Secretary W1l11am Bone, V1ce Presldent, Anna Kerekes, Presldent PRESIDENT S ADDRESS By Anna Kerekes Fellow Classmates, Faculty Members, and Frlends It IS a sad thlng to reallze that soon we shall be graduated from Southwestern We shall no longer walk these halls as students but as v1s1tors returnmg from t1me to t1me to catch a glxmpse of the famllxar S1ghtS whlch brxng to mmd many pleasant memorles of our h1gh school days However, we are glad that we have succeeded 1n the work expected of us 1n h1gh school The t1me has come for us to face the trlals and problems that awalt us We shall no longer have the pat1ence and guldance of our teachers to asslst us We shall be on our own, usmg the trallllng and help that we have recelved here at Southwestern to meet the fu ture.
