fi -v1-.v- Class History Cynth1a Yes, I remember, and Carol Szor was a staff reporter for the school paper On the edrtorral staff there were Nancy Rxto Anna Palamar, M1ke Nagy and Jerry Martm Joyce I recall that Sopoheroma S1ms, Dor1s Cham bers, and, of course, you and I went out for the re serve basketball team Cynth1a Oh sure, and Patr1c1a Smlth made the vars1ty hockey team You Dor1s and I also became cheer leaders Joyce Yes, and I remember those f1rst nxghts of prac t1ce We could hardly walk because of sore muscles Many of the cheerleaders went to bed even domg cheers and what's more they would dream about them Cynth1a We worked hard, d1dn't we? On our reserve football team were Mlke Nagy Clyde Lee, Jerry Martm and B1ll1e Clements Joyce You're so rlght, and W1ll1am Bone made the vars1ty football team Cynth1a Clyde Lee became a reserve basketball player and on our vars1ty basketball team were Frank Blazynek and Hurshel Summers Joyce An end came to our very exc1t1ng and enjoy able Jumor year but we were st1ll str1v1ng for two lmportant events the day we became semors and the day of graduatlon 12th GRADE HISTORY Cynth1a The day fmally d1d come when we became proud senlors We came back to school that day rn January of 1957 feellng as 1f we owned the wcrld Joyce We started our semor year by elect1ng cand1 dates to run for the varlous 12B offlces After all of the campa1gn1ng we elected W1lson Agy Presldent Ann Kerekes V1ce Presldent, Mary Ann Peets, secre tary and Frank Blazynek treasurer Cynth1a Ann Palamar and W1lson Agy were chosen to accept the trad1t1onal p1ck and spade Joyce To begm raxsmg money for graduatxon we started sell1ng such thlngs as scarves p1ns penclls, ball po1nt pens etc Cynth1a We have made lots of money from sellmg those thmgs, too Joyce Bob Sxkes was on the baseball team and B1ll1e Clements went out for the tenms team that semester Cynthxa I thought that I saw h1m cl1mb1ng that hlgh fence after tennls balls Joyce Our 12B Day whlch we had so anxlously planned flnally arr1ved on June 7th Cynth1a We wore red carnatlons wlth whlte rlbbons Later on that evenmg some of us went to the dance glven by our class on Lawndale Joyce On June 20th we were 1nv1ted to attend the Semor Class Day program at wh1ch the p1ck and spade were accepted by members of our class Cynth1a Fmal exams were soon here agam, and we managed to pass them Summer vacatlon came and before we knew It September 1957 had come Joyce Now we were real semors, and were we happy' People had already started askmg for plctures wh1c made us really feel very 1mportant Cynth1a We started rlght off by electmg Ann Kerekes, presldent Jerry Mart1n, secretary W1ll1am Bone, v1ce presxdent and Mary Ann Peets, treasurer Joyce Boy and d1d we make h1story' Ann Kereke was the fxrst g1rl Presldent ln approx1mately twent years Cynth1a The new vars1ty players on the football tea th1s year were Clyde Lee, Jerry Martm, and B1ll1 Clements Joyce M1ss Chalapxs declded to have three one ac plays th1s semester slnce our class was so small Those takmg part 1n the senlor play were Patr1c1aSm1th Rosemary Manoogxan, Louls Zanottl, Donald Borden, J1m Balogh Ralph Mugerdxchxan, and, of course, yo were actlng too Cynth1a All of the plays were successful, thanks t M1ss Chalapls for her pat1ence and understandmg Joyce Before we knew 1t, all of the hol1days had gon by and our 12A Day fmally arr1ved I thmk everyon Cynth1a And now class day IS here I th1nk tha our class flowers are very pretty whlte carnatlons don't you? Joyce I surely do I Just can't help but th1nk tha tomorrow we w1ll proudly recelve our caps and gowns Cynthla And I th1nk that It IS very wonderful tha the student Councxl IS g1v1ng a dance tomorrow Ln ou honor don't you? We thought that we ould never fmd our way around oyce Iremember trylng to f1nd the Nordstrum gym ut landing up in the Southwestern gym with all semors nd Juniors ynthia We were mixed up for at least a week or two efore we began to settle down to busmess oyce Do you remember the spring concert'P ynthla Yes some of the girls in the glee club were olores Molnar, Carolyn Kollath Doris Chambers arolyn Meinke Irene Lobnosky Pat Smith and of oyce Dolores Molnar was one of the spec1al enter ainers who danced ynthia Do you remember that Carolyn Kollath was ne of the Hungarian dancers and Carrie Ol1ve was ne of the square dancers? oyce I recall our first final examinations Every ne was so excited and worried, but most of us man ged to get by ynthxa A few of them liked the 9 B so well that l ey just remamed behind oyce Then came our first summer vacation and when e came back to school, as 9A's we felt better and ore at home ynthxa Yes and John Dallos and Frank Blazynek ent out for the reserve football team oyce Don't forget that you Dor1s Chambers and I ent out for the reserve hockey team Doris received er letter the very first semester ynthia Before we knew it it was January of 1955 nd we were sophomores fag' IQ Cynthia Bryant Joyce Bond TENTH GRADE HISTORY Joyce In our sophomore year most of us got into the school sp1r1t We either participated in or went to the various activities at school Cynthia I recall B111 Berger going out for the base ball team Joyce Yes, and I remember that you, Doris Cham bers, and I went out for the tennis team Cynthia Later on in the year Patricia Smith went out for the reserve hockey team Joyce That year we had an undefeated reserve hockey team and our varsity team won all their games except wo Cynthia W1ll1am Bone went out for the reserve foot ball team Frank Blazynek and John Dallos made the varsity team ball team were Reynard Fleming and Hurshel Summers Cynthia Rosemary Manogian Barbara Bynum Nancy Rxto and Anna Palamar were working very hard as cub reporters for the school paper Joyce Most of us were so busy with so many different activities that this year passed quite rapidly We be came Juniors in January of 1956 11th GRADE HISTORY Cynthia As Juniors we felt very superior and proud This year more boys as well as girls partxcipated in the different act1v1t1es Joyce Yes and the boys who went out for the track team were Frank Blazynek W1ll1am Stone, Leon Cle ments John Dallos W1ll1am Bone and Reynard Flem in Cynthia Oh but wasn't that a busy year running in and out of record for some kind of excuse or reason phoney or legitimate Joyce Our Student Council representative was Anna Palamar who had the honor of becoming secretary of the Student Council Continued on page 12 9 1 , A . 1 , 2 ., . . .
