Class History class took a field trip to the Art Institute Half of the class drifted off got lost amongst the mummies or some place! Val And on June l we also celebrated our 12B Class Day Our flowers were white carnations with white ribbons We again had dinner downtown and a party was again given by Kathy Zajacz After wards the kids went to Sammy s for pizza and we had a grand time Rich We also had a Record Hop which was a wonderful success Frank Sims the disc Jockey was Master of Ceremomes Some of the guests were B111 Ferro and Vicky Young I really had a good time selling pop and chips Val Yeah' I believe we talked more than we danced Rich Do you remember the basketball game we had with the 12A s'7 Val I sure do and of course we won What was really funny was the half time show The boys came out in those silly bathing suits, dresses and nylons Rich Hal Hal Ill never forget that either Those guys were teased for weeks afterwards but it was really something different Val Who got their letters that year? Rich Jock Quillico and Emery Lang were added to the Lettermen Val Vacation time came again and in September 56 we knew that that was the last time we would come back to Southwestern Rich And did we ever feel like Big Wheels real honest to goodness IZA s to have a good time I dont think a week has gone by this semster when we havent had a party Rich It's been the greatest term ever had by any group of seniors, and how I hate to see it end Val We started right off by electing our class officers Since Kaye Tertzag did such a good Job as president in the 12B we re elected him W also elected Lucy Topelian as vice president Biruta Ramanauskas as secretary and because Jock Quillico liked to handle money we elected him the keeper of our money for better or for worse' And Just after these elections Henry Citron was elected president of the Student Council Rich The whole school was sad because we lost the football classic to Western and the lil brown Jug' went back to the Clark Park Institution But in spite of this loss our football team played great foot ball throughout the season And the school spirit this semester was stupendous The 12A s really turned out in full force for all the games Remember the trouble Julie Cartlidge had talking every week end after a game? Val I know what you mean We all had a little trouble talking after some of the games And how about Pat Hudec and the wonderful Job the cheerleaders did? Rich And speaking of Pat Hudec reminds me of the Charleston Act that some of the kids did at the Northwestern game Let s see they were Pat Hudec Julie Cartlidge Kathy Zayacz Rosemarie Kozak and Conme Burgess And you Val And will you ever forget Jock Quillxco and Chuck Stallard dancing around with those canes? I was happy to have a chance to Join in the act when it was given at the clothing drive assembly and at the Western basketball game s too bad we didn t begin doing things like that when we were freshmen Val You re right Those are the things that make school a lot of fun Rich Now that I look back on the serious side of school the studying that is it doesnt seem nearly so bad And it really paid off for Kathleen Gall who became our Valedictorian and Biruta Ramanauskas who became our Salutatorian They are the lucky ones who will give the Commencement Day speeches and they deserve the honors they have received Val Golly Rich, we girls are beginning to get all choked up Just thinking about graduation I sure do hope well all be able to get together often after we're all through school but I imagine well all go off in different directions and chances are that some of us will never see each other again But maybe we can keep in touch with each other and have a re union every so often Rich Wouldnt it be great if we could all get to gether again and have another dance like our first senior dance The Autumn Hop What a night that was Everybody had a good time Some of the boys even got up enough nerve to sing a few songs durmg the intermission Remember Four Crows Sitting on a Fence ? Val How could I forget You boys haven't stopped singing since then Miss Fisher, Mr Levin M Frasier Mr Phinney Mrs Flake and Mr Shuman really got a big bang out of that number I believe our class made a good choice in picking them for The Dedication of the Pictorial because these two teachers displayed more school spirit than any ten semors put together Val Gee what good times' Remember all the fun we had when we went to Richard Pullen s grand mothers farm He had us all out there three or four times and we had a terrific time each time There were the hay rides dancing in the barn What a ball we had when we went horseback riding out there I dont think Ill ever forget watching Chuck Stallard try to make that old horse of his move when the poor ol hos only wanted to eat the bushes Rich And remember when Nancy Sullivan broke her leg at one of Richard s parties Seems that a certain Ron Fleming knew a little Judo too Val And oh boy' What a time we had playing football out there Remember it was Napolitans team against Sebok s team And then the Hallo ween party, too Rich Val what do business managers do'? Val I dunno why? Rich Well It must have been a lot of mon key busmess or else Larry Sirls and John Kasa wouldn t have accepted the positions of Business Man agers of the Prospector! Val You can be sure though that the Journalistic business was top notch with Helen Milton as Editor Rich What about our trips to Knock Knock Street' What a panic' By gosh we really heard that weird knocking too and it wasnt our knees either fPauseJ Hey why the faraway look Val? What are you think ing about9 I . It' . . , .... ' ! , , . . . . , I . . . , . . , ' . . . . . - . 9 P ' , - . . . , ' 7 J ' : . I , ' 1 7 9 I 7 , . . . . , Z u . 2 , . . . . - I .
