Represented on the board are Southern Methodist University and each of the School's eight sponsoring organizations. The board appoints the Dean for Bankers of the School, the trustees of the Foundation, and is responsible for curriculum and faculty changes .proposed by the Curriculum Planning Committee, which is a part of the board. THE FOUNDATION BOARD The Southwestern Graduate School of Banking Foundation was formed to provide a place for gifts made to the School by students and faculty. The Foundation Board sponsors the Assemblies for Bank Directors , a new educational program designed for bank directors throughout the United States. The Foundation ultimately proposes to support a research center for problems in commercial banking, as well as graduate programs in banking. Dr. Smith, who helped plan the School, has served as a lecturer, Chairman of the Business Projections Case, member of the Thesis Committee, and Planning Board counselor, among other duties. Mr. Rude has been a faculty member from the start, a Planning Board counselor, member of the Thesis Committee, and Chairman of the Senior Bank Management Case. J, ' N utstanding Senior Award The executive committee of Class IX, recognizing that many members had made significant contributions to the total School program, this year appointed a special committee to study the accomplishments of various individuals, and to select the one person who had made the most outstanding contribution as a member of Class IX. Numerous individuals were carefully considered before the committee recommended Sam F. Holmes, Jr., who was unanimously approved by the executive committee to receive the first Outstanding Senior Award. He has served as Discussion Leader, Reporter, member of the Special Committee for three years, chairman of the Yearbook Committee, chairman of the Senior Class banquet, and its master of ceremonies, and has been active in other Class and School projects.
