APPRECIATION We, the Annual Staff of the 1979 Open Door, wish to express our sincere thanks and appre- ciation to Mr. John W. Ashe. He is the business manager at Southwestern Technical Institute. Without his time, patience, and co-operation, the annual would have gotten off to a bad start. Thank you, Mr. Ashe, for helping us to the finish line. Appreciation 5

DEDICATION You could say the faculty at STI has come a long way! The men don't have to be strangled by ties, or the women hampered by dresses. Also, teachers are no longer such enemies as they have been classified throughout centuries. There is an easier rapport established between faculty and students that we hope continues in the future. There is one man though that never had this problem and probably never will. He’s at the top of the totem pole when it comes to giving advice and helping others. ''Caring’”’ is his middle name. He goes way beyond the call of duty when any problems arise among the students. Students of Southwestern Technical Institute have always looked up to him with respect. He’s never too busy to give you a pat on the back or utter a kind word which really shows that he’s an extraordinary man. He has done a lot for the students at STI and always will. He is the director of Student Services and he makes the students and all their problems his life. It is with great pleasure that the Annual Staff and students of STI dedicate the 1979 OPEN DOOR to Mr. Richard O. Wilson. 4 Dedication
