C. ORVILLE STROHL President; ETA, Southwestern College; Th.Mi, D.D,, Iowa Wesleyan Coiiege Iiifi School of Theology; THE USE OF TIME There is an old farmer's proverb which says: Time spent sharpening tools is never wasted Time. The farmer in his shed sharpening fools is like The student in his laboratory and classroom reaching conclusions and con- viciions. These are not Iosr years. They are hidden years- where you have had a chance To increase in wisdom and staiure. I hope This campus has been a spiritual cradle for each of you: Where the life and iure and Urge and power Of life made ioyous every hour. Where every instant was a gay adveniure, Every ardent day was a world you could explore. Where every face an open door leading ouf to iands unknown! There is so much To find and be, give, and have and Seek, and see,- Hear and touch, and taste, and know. The time spent here was just long enough for you to fall in love with life and link yourself To some mighty cause. The humbiest sTUdenf, when clad in The armor of a righteous cause, is stronger than all the host of errors. in that spirit a iiifle parT of This campus goes with you as you leave. in that way the spirit of Soufhwesiern continues to live ail over The worid. Haii Alma Mater! President and Mrs. Sirohl relax a! home.
