DEP RTME T Other classes have graduated from Southwestern Central but you represent the first graduating class that has had the privilege of being together during your Senior High school years. May l congratulate you for the very admirable way in which you have adjusted to your new environment. Old friendships and traditions of Celoron and Lakewood are still cherished but at the some time have been changed to fit in to the pattern that is now Southwestern Central. You face the future with hopes, ambitions, and the desire to achieve your own ,conception of a successful life. I only hope that through your school ex- periences you have developed a sense of values that will help you determine just what is success. For there is an ap- pointed sphere for every man born, it may be humble or it may be great, but he that fulfills his destiny with becoming grace and modesty, is a success no mat- ter how humble his calling. Moy l extend upon behalf of the Faculty and myself, our best wishes for not only a successful life but more im- portantly a long and happy one. Sincerely yours, l Cloise E. Holland W. Rood Supervising Principal EXECUTI Dear Class of '57: You are the tenth Senior Class to graduate from Southwestern Central School. During your school years you have seen our school system grow from a loosely co-ordinated system of schools with 1400 pupils to a central system with 2250 pupils and a beautiful new high shool which is already growing too small. With this increase in size has come a decrease in personal contact. Where once l could call every student by name, l am now fortunate to be able to do so with the Senior Class. This does not mean a lessening of our concern for you. We do wish every graduate to feel that faculty and staff are pulling for you and will be happy to help you in any way possible in the years to come. As you leave these halls we hope that you have acquired here some of the knowledge which is the heritage of our fathers, that you have learned in some measure how to meet the problems of this complex world and that you have learned to live in peaceful co-operation with your fellow man. Our very best wishes for long life and happiness go with you. Sincerely yours, Boa rd of Education Seated: Mrs. Lillian Till Mrs. Lois Hough Mrs. Jean Bailey Standing: Earl Lawson Harold Erickson Sheldon Myregaard Walter Davis, Jr. Vern Johnson Not Present Dr. Roland Laury L
