Many churches are established by our Bible College .pu-'T5 Southwestern Bible Institute is a Christian Educational In- stitution which offers training in Bible College, Junior Col- lege, and High School. The principle purpose and objective of the Institution is to prepare Christian workers, ministers, missionaries, and laymen who will go forth to help proclaim the Gospel of Christ in all the world to every creature. Another purpose of the Institution is to provide accredited academic education in high school and in junior college for Christian youth in a faith inspiring, Christ honoring, Bible believing environment under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Three Bible Schools were brought together to form South- western Bible Institute. School of Enid, Oklahoma, the Shield of Faith Bible. School in Amarillo, Texas, and the Southern Bible College of Hous- ton, Texas, A consolidation of Southern Bible College and Shield of Faith Bible College resulted in the formation of South Central Bible Institute owned by the Texas District Council of the Assemblies of God, Southwestern of Enid joined South Central of Fort Worth, and the school became Southwestern Bible Institute. The present location in Waxa- hachie, Texas was purchased in 1943 by the Texas District Council for the school. BIBLE ANU g A program is offered in the Bible Department, for those wishing to major in Bible, leading to a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree. Emphasis is placed on the direct study of the Bible. The classes are designed to develop an understanding and interpretation of the doctrines of the Bible. The department seeks to show the harmony and close association of the books of the Bible. So instrumental in Biblical study is the knowledge of Biblical Languages.
