ORIENTAL PRAYER GROUP Leader: Mary Suggs This group prays for the people, who pray to gods who hear not, with the goal in mind of their conversion to our God who can hear. G1 -,ESE INDIA PRAYER GROUP Leader: Jerzy Bradly From dark India comes the many cries of the lost millions. This group prays continually for this needy land. PIONEER AND SPECIAL MINISTERIES Leader: Nat Walker This group bands together to pray for the lost-- not only in foreign lands, but in our free Amer- ica. God blessed in each service and the Convention came to a climax with the showing of Breaking the Bamboo Curtain, in the Chap- el. . I PRAYER AND BIBLE CONFERENCE The Prayer and Bible Conference was held at the North Side Assembly of God Church January the 16-17. The Rev. Thomas Zimmerman of Springfield, Mis- souri, was the principle speaker for the services. The purpose of this conference was to present to the people the need of a deeper prayer life and its benefits. There were no planned programs during any of the services. Every service was directed by the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit The convention was a. field day ac- tivity for the faculty members and students of the Bible College Department of South- western Bible Institute. The Light Of The Day Bless This House Many churches are established by our Bible College .pu-'T5 Southwestern Bible Institute is a Christian Educational In- stitution which offers training in Bible College, Junior Col- lege, and High School. The principle purpose and objective of the Institution is to prepare Christian workers, ministers, missionaries, and laymen who will go forth to help proclaim the Gospel of Christ in all the world to every creature. Another purpose of the Institution is to provide accredited academic education in high school and in junior college for Christian youth in a faith inspiring, Christ honoring, Bible believing environment under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Three Bible Schools were brought together to form South- western Bible Institute. School in Amarillo, Texas, and the Southern Bible College of Hous- ton, Texas, A consolidation of Southern Bible College and Shield of Faith Bible College resulted in the formation of South Central Bible Institute owned by the Texas District Council of the Assemblies of God, Southwestern of Enid joined South Central of Fort Worth, and the school became Southwestern Bible Institute. Emphasis is placed on the direct study of the Bible. The classes are designed to develop an understanding and interpretation of the doctrines of the Bible. The department seeks to show the harmony and close association of the books of the Bible. So instrumental in Biblical study is the knowledge of Biblical Languages. This department offers four specifications: General Business, Administration, Account- ing, Secretarial Science and Business Education. Students may prepare themselves for a baccalaureate degree from a senior college by taking a program especially designed for this purpose.
