--f'7lvff-KI ,-if 1 2 'Sf vcr To forward the work of our Great Lord and Savior is the hope, desire and ambition of the Southwestern Seniors of 1949. We trust that as you turn these pages you will see not only familiar scenes and happy faces of days gone by, but also interwoven throughout and on every page may you see the beauty of the Savior Himself. It is our prayer that in this book you may see His holiness, love, and atoning power to the extent that from a recourse through its pages you can arise with new strengthtand courage to proclaim to the world that 'jesus Saves'. Our hope for you, then, is that you will go forth in the name of the Lowly Nazarene. May the world hear, may darkness be dispelled, may men live and not die. Forward then ye who work with God. Out on the path that He has trod, You'll find the souls who struggle there Are weighted down with life's great care. Oh tell them then ere day is done, And comes the eve of sinking sun, Of Him who came to seek and save, Of Him who conquered death and grave. They long to know, they look above, Their searching gaze is one for love, They're sinking fast, and yet can't find, Their eyes are dim, their leaders blind. O soul look out and see their plight, Behold the darkness of the night, Arise, and tell both far and near That jesus came to free from fear. Forward then we cry to you Who work with God, ye must be true To Him who's called from night to day. Go forth with Him, He'll lead the way. g I

, It has indeed been a great privilege and honor of the South- western Seniors of the class of nineteen hundred and forty-nine to have been associated with Brother and Sister McCaffe!rty. Sister McCafferty will always be remembered by her warm smile of greeting that has beautified the day for so many, and the rich spiritual life, sense of humor, and greatness of our Brother Mc- Cafferty will live on with us as we live. So it is truly an honor greater than we deserve to dedicate the nineteen hundred and forty-nine SOUTHWESTERNER to Brother and Sister McCafferty. DEDI CATE
