President and Mrs. Scales, Jackie, Donnie, and Charlie. President's Message The MIZPAH of l96l is more than an ordinary book. lt is a record of campus life here at Southwestern Junior College. Long after you have disposed of your texts - Trigo- nometry, Human Anatomy, American History, and Introduction to Education - you will treasure this volume. ln it has been registered a vital part of your life. Admittedly, we did not achieve all we had hoped this year. Those vigorous resolutions we brought to college in September weakened considerably during the rush and stress of the semesters. Fortunately, this is not the only book to which we contribute in life. Life is a story of volumes three - The Past, the Present, and the Yet-to-Be. The first is finished and laid away, The second we are living day by day, The third, the last of the volumes three ls hid from sight, God holds the key. -Edgar A.
