Along with this skill you've demonstrated the ability to work hard toward your goal of becoming a doctor and have taken time to be an officer in the Medical Arts Club as well as president of your college senior class. DOVIE LOU FIRESTONE Your iolly personality and optimistic view of life undoubtedly played a large part in your being chosen vice-president of your senior class and president of the Teachers of Tomorrow Club. But, above all this, those never-to-be-forgotten town trips you chauf- feured will remain our favorite memories of your two years on this campus. CLINTON ROBERTS Keene and Keene schools have been your home for the past thirteen years. Your duties as treasurer of the college senior class have given you a small insight into the business world which you plan to enter, your quiet geniality and steadiness of pur- pose will serve you well in other capacities beside your field of business. BETTY JANE FORTNER For four years you have walked the halls of SWJC and brightened them with your friendly smiles and hi's for everyone. Classes and work in the registrar's office have kept you well occupied, but never too busy to enioy your special interests or for adding your enthusiasm to class picnics and parties. DON STOWE Being senior class pastor and Theology Club president has had a double value in your case, for the senior class and Theology Club have received a big boost from your competent leadership, and you have obtained practical experience which will be of real worth to you as you enter your chosen profession 3 the ministry. DALE MOCK Your pride in your native state can be fairly easily discerned even before one hears your friends calling you Tex as they so commonly do. And no one who knows of your interest in minerals, rocks, and nature lore would be surprised to hear of your being a chemistry lab assistant or being chosen as president of the Medical Arts Club. GEORGE ANN ADCOCK Your place on the campus, George Ann, has been a noteworthy one, and in your loyal service as president of Ta-Wa-Sig S A secretary, and ofiicer in a number of your class organizations - along with your years of effective assistance to the registrar - you have contributed much and developed a quality of leadership highly valued. BILLY BOSTON Prominent for your ability in sports at SWJC, you have also been an active ofiicer in the Knights of Hamilton and this year served both as vice-president of the Better Business Club and business manager of the Southwesterner. EVALENA BILL Student teaching in the elementary school, mimeographing countless copies of the SA Highlights, having hobbies of sewing, cook- ing, swimming, playing the piano, always being friendly and ready to help someone -- these made up your life, four years of study, work, and play, here at SWJC, CHUCK G. DEL VALLE, JR. DICK HALL Arriving on our campus two years ago, you made yourself at home and quickly found a place in the trumpet section of the College Band and again as an oFficer of the iunior class. Skin diving and flying are well- illustrative of your zest for adventuresome living. Another type of adventuring will be yours in your chosen field of research. BETTY RAE HAMILTON Your winning personality and sweet friend- liness have spread much cheer during your two years here with us, Betty Rae. They have also brought you numerous, well- deserved honors, SA Courtesy Queen, Sweet- heart of Harmon Hall, and several important oftices. Qualities versatile enough to make you a successful colporteur, MIZPAH advertising manager, and SA Treasurer have also enabled you to be a leader in carn- pus religious activities and to be selected the i956 College Man of the Year by the Knights of Hamilton. CHRISTINA ENGLISH Another capable OA lass from Arkansas, you have proved yourself all over again at SWJC, tackling vigorously all the intricacies of becoming a proficient secretary. Your quick smile and cheery greeting have won you many friends on this campus, and you'll be remembered, too, for your enthusiastic accompaniments to our singing and for your piano solos. LOU ANN FICK Quiet geniality has characterized your two years at SWJC and all have benefited enioy- ably hearing you read from your story collec- tion. Your pupils are sure to revel in the good things Teacher has stored up for them, too. And teaching can't keep you much busier than classes, library work, and assisting with the MIZPAH has. MARION COOPER I love life and I want to live is another expression of your stated goal: Happiness You'll have it too, for three years of military service were not able to warp your optim- istic outlook or quench your enjoyment in vigorous sports and activity. Your steady, conscientious classwork fortells a bright future for you in the business world. WARREN DESSAIN Canadian born, educated in four different parts of the world, and serving Uncle Sam almost two years, you are fairly cosmo- politan in view and interest. With your aptitude for the mechanical arts and a maior in industrial education you should easily find an import- ant place in life to fill. We-ww W RUTH WILLETA CHESTNUT Characteristic purpose, energy, and unsel- fish desire to serve are shown in your life's goal: to become a state welfare worker. MARY ALICE FIRESTONE Whether ringing our class bell at precisely 12:45, meeting an accounting class appoint- ment, enioying one of your numerous favor- ite hobbies, or lust leisurely chatting with one of your many friends, you always main- tain that same unruffled, calm composure we have come to associate with you. 67 HELTON E. Your future business career and your favorite motto, Doing for others are both com- patible and praiseworthy. MONTEZ TEACLE After an active academy life at Ozark Academy, two years ago you came to Keene to grow busy and busier all over again! GRAHAM KIME Singing in the Knights of Song Quartet and the college choir has been your chief interest during your two years on this cam- pus. Palm trees, flowers, the peaceful ocean lapping on the shore a moon just appearing on the horizon, and stars overhead- could you possibly be in our own Turner Auditorium? Yes, but - thanks to the girls of Ta-Wa-Si and Fidelis, under the leadership of Betty Bell and Sharron Harrison - the auditorium had been transformed into an island paradise. Bennett and Jere, quite at home in the tropical setting, express the fellows' thanks for the exotic evening. Hawaii to its lsles alls You f ii af Happiness You added your smile of approval as Sharron, in true Hawaiian fashion, presented leis to Miss Yates, guest of honor, and to Miss Ingram, Mrs. Cromwell, and Mrs. Bayliss for their generous part in sponsoring the Reception. Hawaiian students, all the way from Pacific Union College in Northern California, provided enchanting island melodies and graceful sitting-hula dances to make complete your evening in the Isles of Happiness.
