Miss Armstrong, a resident of Clinton, La., is the daughter of Mrs. Marie Laird of Clinton and Jer¬ ry Armstrong of Monticello. Miss Armstrong at¬ tended North Pike High School, where she was sophomore class favorite, Valentine sweet¬ heart and served on the Youth Advisory Coun¬ cil. At Southwest, she is a member of the “Touch of Class” dance group and is majoring in elementary education. Barrient is a freshman, son of Herman Barrient, and is a graduate of Riverside Academy in Des- trehan, La. At Riverside, Barrient was elected Mr. Riverside, secretary of Fellowship of Chris¬ tian Athletes and was a member of the Beta Club. While in high school, he was named to the all-state football team. Barrient is a quarter¬ back for the Bears and plans to major in phys¬ ical education. AND BEAUS 29

Miss Montgomery, daughter of Jimmy Sue Far¬ rier, is from Tylertown. She attended Broad¬ moor Senior High School in Baton Rouge, where she was a three-year tennis letterman, served on the Mardi Gras Court and was elect¬ ed wittiest. She plans to major in music and physical education. Fortenberry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dodd Forten¬ berry of Tylertown, is a graduate of Tylertown High School. He was elected Mr. Tylertown High School, beau, most popular and served as president and vice president of the DECA Club. He played baseball three years, was a member of the band four years and the FBLA two years. At SMJC, Fortenberry plays drums in the marching band and is studying to be an aero¬ space engineer.
