Mark Collins and Beverly Jackson serve treats to beat the summertime heat and registration. “There’s never a dull moment here.” “You can never tell what to ex¬ pect at Southwest.” “The thing you least expect to happen, always happens the re.” Yes, that’s the life of a South¬ west student. Whether one lives on campus or off, there’s al¬ ways something going on: Monday night—football in the girls’ dorm. The Student Union on Tuesday. Wednesday night—a night away from the books—and on the town. Thursday night, the pep rally and a movie. Believe it or not, somewhere in there, there’s time for study. Student life—that’s the crowd that gathers in the lobby of the girls’ dorm to watch T.V. The crazy life of a Southwest student staying up past midnight and getting up before dawn, then taking three tests the next day. What makes Southwest stu¬ dents do crazy things like going on all-night “Bear Patrol” before homecoming? Fun, excitement, and just plain adventure are the answers to these. As one student said, “Someday, I’ll be able to tell my kids about this!” Besides it’s all part of going to SMJC—part of being a Bear. Just another part of the “BEAR FACTS” P.S.D. 10 Student Life
