Scenes Of the Times • • • Since our 1977-78 yearbook went to press, many important events have taken place that should not be forgot¬ ten or go unrecorded. Each event at SMJC represents a link in the student life at the college. On February 6, 1978, 34 students were initiated into the Phi Theta Kappa academic fraternity. These stu¬ dents obtained a grade point average of 3.5 or better in their academic studies. Initiation was held in the Fine Arts Building Auditorium and the address was given by Mr. Roy Brewer. Recep¬ tion was held afterwards in the Stu¬ dent Union. Southwest, as a community-minded college always ready to share their facilities for civic functions, hosted Art Park in the Spring of 78.
