The STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION is the back¬ bone of Student government at SMJC. The main duties of the SGA are to uphold and execute the constitution, and to study in an orderly and democratic manner all matters per- taing to student life and student problems in and on cam¬ pus. Leaders are elected yearly by popular vote of the stu¬ dent body. The officers for 1974 are John Ogden, President, Stuart Hemphill, Vice-President, Maynell Wilson, Secretary, Rea Campbell, Treasurer. The members include: John Og¬ den, Miss Jo Ann Carr, Sylvia Hartzog, Linda Godbold, Meynell Wilson, Jan Kornegay, Rea Campbell, Melinda Brumfield, Mr. Reed, Curtis Brewer, Keith Davis, Milton Young, Eddie Smett, Paul Poole, Mike Barrett.
