Under the present laws of our state, the governing body of a school pro¬ gram is a Board of Trustees. In the case of Southwest Mississippi Junior College, the Board consists of fifteen members representing Amite, Pike, Walthall coun- ties. The Board selects a President and charges him with the responsibility of administering the educational program and assures him of their loyal support in all phases of the school work. The Board holds out a helping hand through its organization of com¬ mittees — reaching out in every department and seeking to find ways and means of making improvements. The Board does not shirk its civic responsi¬ bility to represent the public in helping make Southwest Mississippi Junior Col¬ lege an excellent educational Institution. 28
