Ptosidenfs Jtmaqe I write this message with much pride and satisfaction and a deep sense of appreciation for what Southwest Mississippi Junior College has meant to the students who have come and gone from this institu¬ tion. We are grateful to the school men, faculty members, and students of years past for their efforts and for the groundwork that has been laid which has enabled Southwest to take her place among other lead¬ ing schools of the country. Also, we appreciate the fine spirit of co-operation received this year from the faculty, student body, board of trustees of Southwest Mississippi Junior College and the public in general. The spirit has been excellent and the memory of my association with the personnel of South¬ west for 1951-52 will long be cherished. To those of you who have made it possible for this fine work to continue here, we say thank you. It is very fitting at this time that we congratulate the entire staff of the yearbook with Mrs. J. E. Magee as sponsor and Mr. Hilliard Holland as editor for this fine edition. Other members of the staff have been most co-operative in making this year book what it is. Much planning and a lot of hard work was necessary to accomplish this fine piece of work which is always true of Southwest faculty and students. To you students who have been in the service of your country and who are in service now, we are privileged to dedicate this year book to you. Our thoughts and prayers for you and your safe return to your loved ones accompany this dedication. We want you to know that we appre¬ ciate the contributions you have made and are now making to our coun¬ try in helping to preserve the freedom which we now enjoy so much.
