FOREWORD I t is difficult, when trying to picture a vast organization, to show every aspect of life just as it is lived. There is always a failure somewhere; perhaps, in one’s hurry and worry, an integral part of an institution is omitted; truly, there are a million little matters that may keep a work from being complete. However, in this, the seventh volume of Whis¬ pering Pines, we have attempted to depict accurately our entire college organization. Our goal has been to present in picture form a close-up of our athletics, faculty, buildings, students, campus, and social life. We have tried to make this issue of the Whispering Pines a glowing memento of the time we have spent at Southwest Junior College. Our work has not been easy, although we have had good material with which to work, but no such compilation of facts and figures could have been easy. Whatever we may have accomplished, is yours, and we hope that we have attained our goal in giving you something worthy.
