1 H -u - V71 fu nw X A otudent Council Leads the Way Student Council kept busy this year with various activities. All of the council officers, representatives, and class officers spent many hours working to make the 1983-84 year the best ever. The year began with the Sopho- more Orientation for all of our Baby Eagles. The members also worked many hours to perfect extra- curricular activites, including: the Blood Drive, the United Way Drive, the Homecoming extravaganza, the Senior Banquet, the Junior Class Ring Ceremony, the Mr. Eagle Con- test, Senior Week, Grad-Nite, and above all, the Prom. The four elected officers for l 9 8 3- 84 were: Ana Veiga, presidentg Ve- ronica Costero, vice-president, Monica Padillo, secretary, and Irene Balbis, treasurer. Ms. Francis Wein- traub served as sponsor. 'jf' ., . gif x, Y 0 Suzette Gonzalez is a reliable representative. 1 YD! The sophomore representatives use their talents in selling notepads to raise money.

The production of the 1983-84 Aquila would not have been possible without the 40 hardworking stu- dents divided into two yearbook classes. These students spent time each day typing, cropping pictures, writing and rewriting copy in order to perfect the yearbook. Under the supervision of Ms. Deb- bie Lichtman, the yearbook staff, along with editors Adis Riveron, Bonnie Waldman, and Dean Hale could not fail in their objective to make the Aquila the best yearbook ever published in Southwest history.
