The girls, team won the Dade County Championship. They com- peted at the State Finals in West Palm Beach. The teams were led by Veronica Costero and Charles Glasgow. Wfe Make Waves Under the leadership of coaches John Lindeman, Cathy Kapfham- mer, and head coach Lori Merker, the swim team had a very successful season. Both the girls' and boys' swim teams represented Southwest at dis- trict competition, whore the girl swimmers placed sixth in the 400 relay and the bc, svfirnmers cap- tured fifth place in the 400 relay. Monique Cote and Kathy Lesman also placed in the diving division. Outstanding swimmer, John Web- ber, was third in the district for 100 meter freestyle, and qualified for state. Overall, Coach Merker was pleased with the group's performance for the 1983-84 season. Danny S. and Coach Lindeman check fiIT1eS- David and John congratulate each other. yy ir C.
