Setting the Pace The boys' team, led by Coach Fred Ellis, ended with a record of 5- 2. This took them to regional competition, where they placed ninth. Coach Ellis is optimistic about next year, as he had many under- classmen running for him. this year. These included top runners: Victor Fleitas, Jorge Blanco, Keith O'Neil, and Keith Baker. The girls' team had a large turnout, with much enthusiasm put in by Coach Carlos Navarro. He em- phasized aerobics to get his girls in shape. The girls, team won the Dade County Championship. They com- peted at the State Finals in West Palm Beach. The teams were led by Veronica Costero and Charles Glasgow.
