Setting the Pace The boys' team, led by Coach Fred Ellis, ended with a record of 5- 2. This took them to regional competition, where they placed ninth. Coach Ellis is optimistic about next year, as he had many under- classmen running for him. this year. These included top runners: Victor Fleitas, Jorge Blanco, Keith O'Neil, and Keith Baker. The girls' team had a large turnout, with much enthusiasm put in by Coach Carlos Navarro. He em- phasized aerobics to get his girls in shape. Volleyball A predominently young and unex- perienced j.v. volleyball team played under the direction of Coach Sandy Stewart to a 5-12 season. l The young group got off to a shaky start, but improvement was obvious by the end of the season, leaving hope for next year.
