Tammy's broken leg doesn't keep her down. Enjoying the sunshine at a track meet is club member, Ralph Gonzalez. ,ii j iw Chatting about the plans for tomorrow's meet are Aileen Santiago and Diana Cordoba. Track Club This year, Track Club was very helpful to the track team. Some of the tasks included keeping time for the runners and keeping the scores on the scoreboard. The girls also helped the coaches in measuring dis- tances, and kept records of the long jump, discus, and shot-put throws. The Track Club helped raise mon- ey for trips by selling bagels and hav- ing bike-a-thons. But most of all, the club showed its dedication to the team by cheering at meets. Bottom row: Linda Narzissenfeld and Annet Huijing. Basketball Club The Basketball Club, new to Southwest this year, was a great boost to the team. Each member of the club was assigned secret pals and gave the players candy before the games. The club held many fundraisers such as selling stuffed animals and having a refreshment stand at each home game. The c1ub's co-sponsors, Coach Moore and Ms. Lamb felt that the club was an inspiration to the team. 20 ZXCLUBS Jennie Carranza does not think much of one of Coach Moore's sarcastic jokes. -X xv Q. l

The members of Conservation Club are proud to be aware of their surroundings. Conservation Club ls All Natural The Conservation Club was de- signed for students interested in na- ture. This year, the club particpated in field trips to the Florida Ever- glades. The group also took part in the Step Program, which entailed an overnight trip, where members took part in the outdoor life at the Ever- glades. Listening to the c1ub's plans is April Croy. Danny Loniak knows that the club is great! June Loochkartt is a diligent secretary.
