Quill Sz Scroll Quill 81 Scroll is an honors club, made up of students with either two years of journalism or yearbook. Their meetings are held after every publication of the Lancer. Throughout the year, it had fun- draisers such as selling bagels and buttons. Its goal was to raise 5 l ,O O 0 for their main function, which was the publication of the Lancer. Any extra money was used for the jour- nalism and yearbook's trip to New York. Mu Alpha Theta The Math Honor Society is an aca- demic society dedicated to the task of increasing the knowledge of math. Throughout the year, it spon- sors a statewide mathematics com- petition, offers tutoring to students in math, and engages in many com- munity services. Not only does the society benefit the school and community, but it also gives its members the opportu- nity to enhance their own skills in math, as they represent Southwest in numerous math competitions. Artists at Heart The National Art Honor Society lN.A.H.S.l, sponsored by Ms. Rita Touzet, decorated our school with its creations. The club, which met twice a week, provided Southwest and the community with a variety of ser- vices. N.A.H.S. sponsored the annual art show and also sent a student teacher , to Miami Chi1dren's Hospital.
