Will the real Chuck Di please step forward?! The dance began that Friday night. But at 8:30 no one was in sight. When 9:00 rolled around The music began to sound. Couples came In two by two. Some started dancing, but only a few The puppets took first prize For having the best disguise. The night ended and there was sorrow. But never fret, there will be a tomorrow! F R I C E A N M D P S H I P On January 27 and 28, 1982 twenty-five American and twenty-five Southeast Asian people went on a friendship retreat. 18 — Special Events Miss Brinley Retires After 42 years of service to Southwest, Miss Ann Brinley retired this year. She began as a physical education teacher then switched to counseling. Besides counseling, she supervised programs and organizations such as National Honor Society, selection of Homecoming Queens, and Friendship-Leadership Camp. She helped many students with their schedules and was a good friend to anyone who needed one. She was never too busy for anyone. She was helpful and concerned with all her students. Though we’re sad to see her go, the present and past graduating classes of Southwest thank her and wish her the best of luck! The afternoon began with the crowning of King Greg and Queen Ann. The Broomball Tournament followed. Next was the Hamburger eating contest. Dave Love was declared winner for “woofing” his 10 the fastest. Then came the Pie Eating. Matt’s big mouth helped him take the ribbon.
