Backstage Thursday, November 7. during the first hour campaign are Hard at work—Linda Anderson. Jeff Peterson. Nick Smaby, Frank Mann, and Frank's sister, a Smabes' Babe. Seniors will long remember the events following November 5, 1963. The primary election was held on Tuesday, and the winners were announced Wednesday in senior advisor)-. After school until 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, class members made campaign materials, danced, and rehearsed skits and speeches for their candidates: Nick Smaby or Jim Luger (President), Denny Anderson or Jay Rovner (Vice President), Francie Johnson or Nancy Beardslee (Secretary), Tom Friberg or Tom Dahlen (Treasurer), Nancy Connolly or Jean Barr)- (Girls’ Sergeant at Arms), and Denny Johnson or Charlie Lieb (Boys’ Sergeant at Arms). Spirited campaigning was completed during first hour on Thursday; then the final balloting began. Friday morning, Mr. Dahle announced the long awaited results. The newly elected officers immediately made plans for the election of the class council. For the first time, the seniors elected the entire council by secret ballot in senior advisory. When the results were announced, the Class of 64 united behind their able leaders to make this the best year ever! Mr. Dahle did a fine job of supervising the senior elections. A Week to Remember Gary Kasner—a typical scene! Senior Election Week is brought to a close after school on Friday. November 8. 23
