Physical Education Builds Strong Bodies The active Physical Education Department is doing much to maintain physical fitness and acquaint students with the ’many individual, team, and spectator sports. At the Junior High level the emphasis is on team sports. At the Senior High level the teachers stress individual activities that will benefit the student throughout life. AL BANKS Soph. The courses offered are extensive and complete. This curriculum fully equips the student to hold a job after graduation, although many students take advantage of these courses for personal use. Southwest is extremely fortunate to have a fine program of mathematics. Students continue from required courses of general math in the seventh and eighth grades through a full program of electives in Senior High. A great challenge is available to those whose interests lie in this field.
